Brittany and Drake’s spring wedding took place at The Highlands Chapel at Howe Farms—a bright, elegant space nestled just outside Chattanooga. Known for its soft natural light and timeless white interior, this Chattanooga wedding chapel is a photographer’s dream, especially for couples planning indoor ceremonies like this one. Even with a steady drizzle outside, the day felt easy and beautiful thanks to the thoughtful design of the venue’s getting ready rooms and the serene, light-filled Chattanooga wedding chapel space.
The morning buzzed with lighthearted energy as Brittany got ready with her mom, grandmother, aunt, and bridesmaids. One of the more memorable touches? A personalized wedding newspaper, which the girls passed around with excited smiles while getting ready. It was such a fun, unique moment to capture—and a perfect reflection of Brittany and Drake’s playful personalities.
Rain clouds loomed early, but rather than dampening spirits, they made the bright whites of the chapel and the soft blues and purples of the florals pop all the more. Brittany got ready in a room filled with laughter, surrounded by friends and family, slipping into a classic strapless gown with a full skirt and delicate pearl-dotted veil, while her bridesmaids waited downstairs to see her for the first time, ready to walk down the aisle.
Their first look wasn’t with each other, but rather Brittany with her father, who embraced her with a kiss that left her beaming.
Drake prepared nearby, cool and composed, pausing just long enough for a few portraits before heading into the chapel.
Before the ceremony, Brittany surprised the groomsmen with an impromptu entrance—and their over-the-top, joyful reactions did not disappoint. Cheers, hugs, and full-body excitement erupted as she entered. It was such a fun way to break tradition and shake off nerves before stepping into the chapel.
Inside the chapel, Brittany and Drake’s ceremony was deeply emotional. As she walked down the aisle on her father’s arm, Drake was visibly overwhelmed with tears—something Brittany later shared had always been her dream. “I think it’s a good representation of how much he loves me,” she said in her post-wedding reflections.
They wrote their own vows and exchanged them surrounded by soft wood tones, glowing chandeliers, and all the people who love them most. After sealing it with a kiss, they tucked away behind the chapel doors for a private moment before portraits.
Thankfully, the rain paused just in time for us to step outside and take full advantage of the venue’s picturesque grounds. Brittany’s bouquet of lavender, ivory, and blue popped against the garden paths and rose bushes. We wandered through the exterior of the Chattanooga wedding chapel, taking portraits beneath arched doorways, near florals, and inside the pews of the now-empty ceremony space. The light was soft, the couple relaxed—it was the perfect balance of elegance and fun.
Brittany and Drake promised a celebration, and they delivered. From a first dance full of spins and laughter to a two-tiered cake adorned with a golden topper, the reception was all energy, all heart. Brittany changed into a white tulle mini dress and boots and hit the dance floor with her new husband, leading the crowd in a high-energy country twist on the Wobble.
One of the most touching moments of the night came when Brittany surprised her mom with a bouquet presentation during the reception. The room paused as Brittany took the mic, flowers in hand, offering them to her mother in a heartfelt gesture that tugged at heartstrings throughout the space. It was emotional, sincere, and a perfect reflection of how much family meant to this couple.
Guests cheered them on during a late-night beer shotgun circle, and their bubble exit—under glowing bistro lights—was the perfect punctuation to an unforgettable day.
Working with Brittany and Drake was a highlight of my season. Their warmth, spontaneity, and absolute love for one another made every part of the day so fun to capture. After the wedding, Brittany wrote:
“Working with Lara was PHENOMENAL!! She was so kind and listened to us and our requests. She made taking pictures a fun experience rather than a dreaded one. I would 10000% recommend her and use her again!”
I couldn’t ask for kinder words or better people to spend the day with.
Brittany and Drake—your wedding was as vibrant and heartfelt as your love for each other. I hope your life together is full of just as much laughter, surprise, and celebration as your wedding day. You were clearly made for one another, and I feel lucky to have been a small part of such a meaningful beginning.
