It truly felt as if spring sprung the morning of Nadia and Evan’s wedding at Howe Farms. Nadia’s inspiration for her’s and Evan’s wedding day was a clean and classic European Old World wedding. She grew up in Portugal and wanted to include a bit of her history and travels into their wedding day. The Woodlands at Five Gables is the perfect venue for this, featuring a ceremony space with a stunning colonnade that delivers that old world Italian feel.
Their venue offered a plethora of options for stunning backdrops both inside and out. The Woodlands at Five Gables is an impeccably detailed space with every detail considered. Nadia fell in love with it for the outdoor ceremony site, but was taken by the stunning interior and spiral staircase as well. As a photographer, I wished for more areas of open shade, but was delighted by the multitude of breathtaking options for unique settings.
The old world feeling Nadia and Evan desired was truly brought to life as their guests began to arrive for the ceremony. The ceremony was a time of worship and celebration. Family and friends added a special touch as they joined together at the arbor playing instruments and singing together in praise. The couple shared their own vows before partaking in a foot-washing ceremony, a ritual that represents humility, respect and a commitment to serve one another throughout their journey in marriage.
Exploring the grounds of The Woodlands at Five Gables during Nadia and Evan’s couples session was a delight. From the walk-through gardens to an open field with their venue in the background to spectacular archways incorporated into the architecture it was truly a treat to work with this smitten couple. They were down-right giddy with one another and were absolute naturals in front of the camera. The sun-kissed photos taken in front of the venue with the classic car are simply to die for.
Upon entering the reception site guests were greeted by a grand spacious event space with grand windows and doorways, elegant chandeliers and tall floral arrangements featuring white roses and cascading greenery.
Nadia changed into a second dress before making her grand entrance with Evan as newlyweds. Her reception attire was a three quarter length empire waist fit and flare sleeveless dress that she elevated with elbow length lacy gloves. The newlyweds shared their first dance together in front of the spiral staircase. Afterwards they were able to mingle with their guests as everyone enjoyed dinner homemade by the bride’s family. DJ Dutty did a fantastic job entertaining and encouraged everyone to celebrate with the happy couple.
A sparkler exit closed out the festivities with a touch of magic as Nadia and Evan ran happily through the shimmering lights and sharing a dramatic dip kiss along the way. They then got in their classic getaway car, waving as they were driven towards the horizon.
