When Michaela and Mark decided to have their engagement session at Drumore Estate, I knew we were in for something special. Nestled deep in Amish Country, in the rolling hills of Lancaster County Pennsylvania, this historic estate offers breathtaking gardens, Georgian architecture, and golden hour light that feels straight out of a painting. The couple had only seen the venue in winter when they first toured it and fell in love with its beauty then—so seeing it alive with mid-summer color during their engagement session was an exciting bonus. For a couple planning a late May wedding here, it was the perfect setting to celebrate their engagement and start envisioning what their day might feel like in full bloom.
Thinking about your own Drumore Estate Wedding?

What truly elevated this session was the venue itself. Drumore Estate isn’t just beautiful—it’s designed to support celebrations that feel luxurious, private, and unforgettable. Originally built in 1938, the mansion blends classic Georgian design with modern hospitality. The grounds include everything from tree-lined drives and sculpted gardens to sunlit meadows and fountains tucked into quiet corners. Every inch is immaculately maintained, and the staff was a dream to coordinate with when planning this session.

We explored nearly every corner of the property, from the intricate white ironwork arch at the mansion’s entrance to the lush wildflower gardens that framed Michaela’s flowing white dress. One of my favorite spots was the pool—calm, clean, and symmetrically surrounded by seasonal blooms and a charming carriage house. Whether you’re planning portraits, a ceremony, or your entire wedding here, the estate offers an incredible mix of grand and intimate backdrops.

Another standout moment? The elegant brick staircases and garden paths that wind around the mansion, each offering a new perspective of the estate’s stately presence. Michaela and Mark especially fell in love with the garden ceremony space near the fountain—tucked between manicured hedges and surrounded by blooms, it’s a truly romantic and peaceful place to say “I do.” These details make Drumore Estate wedding galleries truly dynamic—every corner of the venue is photogenic and versatile, no matter the season.

While this shoot was all about capturing joy and connection, it also gave Michaela and Mark a taste of what their wedding day will feel like. What struck me most about the two of them was their quiet ease together. Despite it being the first time either of them had ever had professional photos taken, they were completely present with each other—laughing, twirling, and leaning into every moment with open hearts. It’s one of the reasons I always recommend doing an engagement session before your wedding.

Walking hand-in-hand beneath the trees, practicing their dip kiss at golden hour, and laughing together in the middle of a daisy field—each moment was effortless, heartfelt, and beautifully reflective of what’s to come. The experience builds comfort in front of the camera, gives us a chance to connect, and allows you to show up to your wedding day already knowing what it feels like to be photographed with intention. Additionally, we get to explore the grounds fully and leisurely, allowing us to visit spots we won’t have time to on your wedding day.

If you’re considering Drumore Estate PA wedding venue for your own wedding, I can’t recommend it enough. It’s rare to find a venue with such a thoughtful blend of natural beauty, architectural elegance, and responsive planning support.
Congratulations again, Michaela and Mark—I can’t wait to return to the rolling hills of Lancaster, PA in May to photograph your Drumore Estate wedding day in full bloom.
